HISTORY ON TAP: CIDER OVER THE CENTURIES: FROM THE OLD WORLD TO CAPE COD
July 31st, 5:00pm-7:00pm
Cape Cod Maritime Museum
Admission: $10 per person / $5 for members
Join us for a special edition of History on Tap—an evening of local history, spirited conversation, and craft beverages with a Cape Cod twist. This month, we’re exploring the history of cider making, from its ancient European origins to its rise in colonial America and unique role in early Cape Cod life.
Cider was once the drink of New England—served in taverns, on farms, and even aboard ships along the coast. Join Norbert Sack, founder of Sandy Neck Cider, for a lively journey through the rise, fall, and revival of this iconic beverage. From its ancient European roots to its rise in colonial America and its surprising role in early Cape Cod life, cider’s story is rooted in craft, culture, and everyday tradition. We’ll also look at its decline, rediscovery, and revival—accompanied by a tasting of the ciders of Sandy Neck Cider.
Part of our History on Tap series – Be among the first to taste what Cape Cod’s newest cidery has to offer, alongside light refreshments including cheese, crackers, cookies, and non-alcoholic options.
Admission: $10 per person / $5 for members
