- This event has passed.
Friends of Snow Library’s Lifetime Learning Program will feature 2 films, Two Roads (2024) and Brighton Beach (1980), directed by Susan Wittenberg and Carol Stein, Ace Pictures, Inc. as part of its Documenting Our Great Country series. This hybrid offering will be presented live at Snow Library on November 18, 2025,1:30pm – 4:00pm. The program will also be available through Zoom & recorded. The films are co-sponsored by Cape Cod Art Center and ArtsBarnstable. Two Roads traces an untold 200-year-old story about the intersection between African American and Irish culture and politics as expressed through dance and music. Featuring the late Mick Moloney, a legendary folklorist and banjo rambler, and choreographer/performer Lenny Sloan, it showcases art’s great power to bridge divisions. Brighton Beach is a portrait of the immigrant communities, mostly Soviet Jews and Puerto Ricans, as they enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, performing, gossiping, and mingling on the boardwalk with long-time residents, coexisting in their shared uprootedness.
Programs and performance dates and times are subject to change or cancellation without notice.
