Make a book of your own design in this two-part class! Learn the fascinating Coptic binding technique, which is the oldest binding still in use today. Some advantages to this binding is that it opens 360°, making it ideal for journals, sketchbooks, and any multi-page book project. It also uses minimum glue, relying solely on thread to hold it together.

We will make our own decorative paper in the first class for the covers of the book. Practice makes perfect, and we will prepare an extra book for students to finish at home, along with an instructional handout. Come join the fun. Heather provides all materials and necessary bookbinding tools for the workshop. If you have a specific paper you would like to use for your cover(s), please bring it to the first class.
