Forest Bathing in September & October
- This event has passed.
The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster presents Forest Bathing Meditation Walks: Deepening your Relationship with Nature with CCMNH Field Guide Carol Marcy.
Immerse yourself in the unique environments of marsh, creek, forest and beach surrounding the Museum and learn to pay attention in a new way with Carol Marcy’s guided meditations. The walk moves slowly interspersed with reflections that encourage a deep connection with your surroundings. Learn how slowing down, grounding and opening your awareness to the abundant life in and around you, can be healing, calming, peaceful and deeply refreshing.
The practice of forest bathing comes to us from Japan, and draws inspiration from ancient Shinto and Buddhist practices that recognize the healing qualities of nature. You will bathe in the living being of the Forest by taking deep breaths of air filled with the calming scent of pine, experiencing the breeze on your skin, hearing the sound of the leaf orchestra under the direction of the wind and trees, soaking up the healing rays of the sun, and seeing the vast array of colors and shapes provided by Nature.
Carol Marcy has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, a Masters in Dance/Movement Therapy and is a certified Meditation teacher.
