Theresa Harriman
Cape Cottage Studio
I enjoy making whimsical and colorful ceramics reflecting the seashore and flower gardens of Cape Cod. I have lots of unique, one of a kind items in all sizes. Miniature snowmen, trees, owls, cats, whales and cottages are some of my recent endeavors. Of course, you will still find my mini pumpkins in my Shanty this summer. Everything is completely handmade with all the work done by myself. My current work has a floral motif embossment which can be found on many forms, including ring dishes, vases, trays and ornaments. I also have many useful items for your house which I have fabricated using inspiration from my gardens, especially the hydrangea and Hosta plants. Leaves of all sizes are available for you to use on your table. I also have been making floral signage for houses, cottages, and stores, suitable for exterior use.
I have a degree in Architecture and worked in Boston for 15 years. I restored, along with my husband, a 200 year old Victorian in the suburbs where we raised our two boys. We escaped periodically to the Cape and made the move permanent over several years. I have been actively doing ceramics for 20 years and now work at it full time. I have a delightful working studio which I designed on our property and find I spend all my time there, getting lost in my creative endeavors. I love it!
You can also find my work at The Coastal Craft Gallery in Orleans where I am a member.
