Aimee Andersen

Aimee paints landscapes that transcend the subject and illuminates its presence. Through paint application and color choice she creates an atmosphere where light is the focus that sits between the viewer and the scene within the painting. Aimee grew up and has lived most of her years on Cape Cod. From a young age she had dreams of being a painter and in May of 2015 she earned her BFA from The Art Institute of Boston - now known as Lesley University College of Art and Design. In the near decade since graduating Aimee has spent many summers working as a fine-gardener and falling in love with flowers and horticulture. She primarily paints in oil and has developed a style of light-inspired floral landscapes she likes to refer to as “garden portraiture”.
