My name is Michelle Constantine (formerly Wiarda), and I am an artist and photographer. I was born and raised on the north shore of Massachusetts, where my love of art began at an early age. As a child, my father took our family to beaches and lighthouses for Sunday picnics and weekend trips. He had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the landscape, and together we explored the coastal regions of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, as well as Florida and the islands.

Through those experiences, I developed a lasting connection to nature and a desire to capture the beauty I saw around me. I began expressing this through drawing and painting seascapes, landscapes, lighthouses, animals, and flowers, the subjects that continue to inspire my work today. Nature remains at the heart of my creative expression.

I earned my degree from Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts, where I studied commercial art along with painting, drawing, and photography. Living and learning in such a picturesque coastal setting deeply shaped my artistic perspective and strengthened my appreciation for natural beauty.

Over the years, I have developed a distinctive watercolor style, creating a wide range of seascapes, landscapes, animal subjects, and architectural pieces. Now based on Cape Cod, I find endless inspiration in its breathtaking vistas, historic homes, and abundant wildlife, which I explore through both painting and photography.

My time living in Delray Beach, Florida, also left a lasting impression on my work. Its vibrant, tropical character, from colorful beach cottages to lush flora, inspired me to capture its unique beauty in watercolor.

Throughout my career, I have worked as a graphic designer, artist, and photographer. I spend many hours photographing landscapes and gathering reference material, which I later translate into paintings that reflect my connection to the natural world.

My original watercolor and acrylic paintings, along with prints and fine art photography, are held in private and corporate collections around the world. In my studio, I continue to refine my craft, exploring new techniques and approaches each day.

Through my work, whether paintings, prints, cards, or other creations, I hope to share the beauty I experience and inspire others to see the world through an artist’s eye.
