The "Artist Spotlight " program features Kurt Turnbull, now through September 25, 2026.

View the exhibits in the James H. Crocker, Jr. Hearing Room and Selectmen’s Conference Room on the 2nd floor of Barnstable Town Hall.

It is free and open to the public to view artwork in Barnstable Town Hall, 367 Main Street, Hyannis.

HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, closed on State and Federal holidays. Free parking in the Town Hall public parking lot.   Enter Town Hall through the front doors on Hyannis Village Green entrance. Take stairs or elevator to the 2nd floor.  ADA accessible through the lower level.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  If you intend to stop by to see the artwork, first, be sure to check the public meeting calendar on the Town of Barnstable website as sometimes meetings are scheduled and rooms are sometimes closed to the public during these meeting times.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Kurt Turnbull is a fine art photographer, retired from the Barnstable School Department after 27 years. He had previously worked for 7 years at the Barnstable Patriot newspaper. On display are images created since 1968. The subject matter is varied but most images relate to landscape and nature. Kurt is a graduate of R.I.S.D with a BFA in photography. Kurt had been represented by the former Osterville

Art Gallery and has had work appear in newspapers including the New York Times.

ABOUT THE ARTIST SPOTLIGHT PROGRAM:
The Town of Barnstable ‘Artist Spotlight’ program is an opportunity for artists (or groups) to display work at Barnstable Town Hall. Some artists have never before displayed their work in a public setting and this is a chance for them to learn how to frame and present their work.  Others are well established and delighted to share their work with those that pass through Town Hall each day.

Many visitors may not typically head to galleries or other organizations to view artwork.  This program is an opportunity for both artists and visitors to connect in an unexpected way. Visitors have an opportunity to learn about some of Cape Cod's local artists.
