After a brief review\, students will dive into creating larger\, organic-style focal beads. Techniques will include using stringers and frit (crushed glass) to decorate and add texture to the bead surface.\nPerfect for those who took Beginner Lampworking with Vangie or students who have prior lampworking experience and are ready to expand their practice\, this class encourages creative experimentation while refining your control of the flame and materials.\nAll materials\, equipment\, and safety gear provided.\n\nEXTRAS: Every student will go home with a beautiful handmade piece of jewelry.\n\nDON’T FORGET: Wear close-toed shoes and wear natural fibers (cotton or linen). You’ll be introduced to lampworking tools and colorful glass rods\, and guided through the process of melting glass to create your first small beads. These beads can be transformed into a unique pair of earrings or a pendant.\nStudents will also learn how to make stringers — thin pulled rods of glass used to add surface decoration and fine detail to their beads.\nNo prior experience is necessary and all materials\, equipment\, and safety gear is provided.\n\nEXTRAS: Every student will go home with a beautiful handmade piece of jewelry.\n\nDON’T FORGET: Wear close-toed shoes and wear natural fibers (cotton or linen).
