And the best darkroom is the one you have with you! \nIn this three-hour workshop we’ll look at basics of good photographic composition\, then take a deep dive into two post-processing apps that every cellphoneographer should be using: Lightroom Mobile and Snapseed. While the images our cameras produce are properly exposed\, with good color and sharpness\, they are only the starting point of what is possible. By using free applications like Snapseed and the free version of Lightroom Mobile\, we can improve upon reality and add our own artistic voice to our images before sharing them with the world. During the five-hour workshop students will explore the unique qualities of alcohol ink and how it may be used for flowing abstracted works with the addition of representational elements. Attention to design and color will be emphasized and opportunities to create florals or landscapes using brushwork will be included for those who wish. Wireless Flash is the single best tool you have to produce “Wow!” images\, yet it can be incredibly intimidating. \nIn this combination lecture and workshop\, professional photographer Gary Friedman (www.FriedmanArchives.com) shows how to get the most out of these tools without needing any technical know-how. \nIn the first half\, he provides a lecture and a demonstration of how to get great lighting using only one flash; in the 2nd half all participants break up into groups of 3 and practice these techniques using the wireless-capable flashes they already own.
