DESCRIPTION:Glass Fusing Pick Your Own Project Workshop \nat Sandwich Glass Museum \n$20 \nJoin us for a fun\, hands-on art experience where you’ll craft a one-of-a-kind fused glass piece! With expert guidance\, you’ll learn the basics of glass cutting and how to assemble your project. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a glass enthusiast\, this class offers something for everyone. Pick your own project\, choosing from a sun-catcher\, a nightlight\, or a coaster\, and watch your masterpiece come to life! \nPlease note: The class registration fee is $20\, which does not apply to the cost of the project. Project costs vary $40-$46 depending on the specific project you’d like to create. \nThis class is for ages 8+. As we do work with sharp materials and tools that require some hand dexterity\, we ask that children 8-13 be accompanied by an adult who can assist if needed. \nProjects are guaranteed ready one week after creation date. If you cannot pick your project up\, we have shipping available. Students will learn how to shape and refine individual petals\, practicing consistency and intentional movement to achieve balanced\, cohesive forms. \nYou’ll explore how glass responds to heat as you flatten\, shape\, and refine each element\, then discover the techniques for bringing those pieces together—carefully reheating and assembling them into a complete flower. The process culminates in pulling and shaping a graceful\, twisty stem\, adding movement and personality to your finished piece. \nThis class blends precision with creativity\, giving you the skills to build a beautiful glass flower while gaining confidence working with borosilicate. \nSafety & What to Expect \nThis class is held at our HyArts Campus Flamework Studio \nAll participants must wear 100% cotton or linen clothing (no synthetic fabrics)\, along with closed-toe shoes. Long hair must be tied back securely before class. \nProtective eyewear will be provided to help you safely view the flame and glowing glass during the workshop. \nAll pieces created during class must cool slowly in a kiln overnight to ensure durability and prevent cracking. Finished work will be available for pickup the following day.
