Her \nwork often emerges from her daily walking practice—an act that connects her to her body\, her \nenvironment\, and the quiet transformations of the seasons. Through drawing\, wirework\, and paper \nconstruction\, Goldman mirrors the rhythms of nature\, offering viewers a reflective experience \ngrounded in time\, texture\, and observation. \nGoldman holds an MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design\, a Post-Baccalaureate \nCertificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University\, and an MA in Art \nHistory from Boston University. DESCRIPTION:Join Robert Henry\, acclaimed Cape artist and educator\, for a special conversation with Director of Art Benton Jones about his unique approach to creating artwork in series—a method where multiple pieces are connected by theme\, subject\, or style. \nHenry will share insights from his seven-decade career\, his artistic process\, and his connection to the teachings of Hans Hofmann. The talk will be followed by a brief audience Q&A. \nRobert Henry (b. 1933\, Brooklyn\, NY) is a distinguished American painter\, educator\, and arts leader whose work is deeply rooted in the Modernist tradition. With a career spanning over six decades\, Henry has become a central figure in the Provincetown art community and a major influence on generations of artists through both his practice and teaching. \nHenry’s formal art education began at the Brooklyn Museum Art School\, followed by Brooklyn College\, where he developed a strong foundation in traditional and contemporary techniques. A pivotal moment in his artistic journey came when he was awarded a scholarship to study at the Hans Hofmann School of Fine Arts in Provincetown\, Massachusetts. Hofmann\, a towering figure in 20th-century art and a key proponent of Abstract Expressionism\, became a formative influence on Henry’s approach to color\, composition\, and the expressive power of form. \nKnown for his deep exploration of the human figure and urban environment\, Henry frequently works in series\, producing multiple interrelated works that investigate a single subject\, theme\, or technique over time. These series allow him to push the boundaries of representation and abstraction\, often emphasizing psychological depth\, bold color\, and a dynamic use of space. Whether in portraiture\, street scenes\, or abstract compositions\, his work reveals a keen observational eye and a commitment to visual storytelling. \nHis influence is also seen in the work of contemporary artists such as Laura Shabott\, who studied with him and carries forward the lineage of the Hofmann School through her own bold\, expressive figurative works. \nHenry has exhibited extensively in both solo and group shows throughout the United States and internationally\, with exhibitions in London\, Paris\, Oslo\, and numerous venues across Cape Cod and New York City. His work is held in private and public collections\, and he continues to be represented by the Berta Walker Gallery in Provincetown.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome 2026 with great comedy at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. \nFor more information\, go to ScampsComedy.com or ArtsontheCape.org. \nDec 31\, 2025\, 5:00pm to 6:30pm Timezone: Eastern Time (US & Canada)\nDec 31\, 2025\, 7:00pm to 8:30pm Timezone: Eastern Time (US & Canada)\nDec 31\, 2025\, 9:00pm to 10:30pm Timezone: Eastern Time (US & Canada) \nAgain this year\, the Cotuit Center for the Arts will close out the year with three fantastic New Year’s Eve Comedy shows on Wednesday\, December 31\, at 5:00pm\, 7:00pm and 9:00p.m. \nPresented for the seventh year in a row by Scamps Comedy\, the show is hosted by Cape Cod’s Favorite Comedian\, Jim Ruberti\, along with headliner Sean Sullivan and rising Rhode Island comedy star Tyler Hittner. \n“This is one of my favorite events of the year\,” says host Ruberti\, a Centerville resident who works around New England and the East Coast. “There is nothing like comedy on New Year’s Eve. People come to the shows ready to laugh. We have a wonderful time\, and it gets them ready for a new year.” \nThe show is appropriate for adults (18-plus)\, and there will be a cash bar. Doors will open one hour before each show. Tickets are $37\, and $34 for seniors or members\, available online (ArtsontheCape.org\, ScampsComedy.com/shows). \nRuberti returns to host\, as he’s done at the Cotuit Center for the Arts since 2019. This year was a big one for him\, as he performed at the Hampton Beach (NH) Comedy Festival and hosted the first-ever Cotuit Comedy Festival (also held at the Cotuit Center for the Arts). He also performed around New England with the Ranting Parents Comedy Tour\, and made his first appearance at the famous Nick’s Comedy Stop in Boston). \n“Even with three shows\, we sold out last year\,” Ruberti said. “The crowds keep turning out\, and the shows just keep getting better. As comedians\, there’s nothing we like more than making people laugh\, and from the feedback I get\, the crowds have a wonderful time.” \nNamed as one of Boston’s top comics by The Boston Globe\, Boston Herald and Boston Phoenix\, Sean Sullivan is an accomplished and popular stand-up comedian and sketch comedy performer\, with loose and unpredictable tendencies that have audience members guessing at what he’ll come up with next. Winner of the “Funniest Person in Massachusetts Award\,” the former Late Night with Conan O’Brien intern has also been profiled in The Weekly Dig. He performed on Die Laughing\, a 30-minute television pilot produced by Friends co-creator Kevin Bright. He has also appeared on Comedy Central and is a two-time semifinalist at the Boston Comedy Festival. \nRhode Island-based Tyler Hittner has made a name for himself in New England and New York City\, where he’s the comic-in-residence at the popular Broadway Comedy Club and a recent win in the city’s largest comedy competition\, the 300-contestant “Comfy Clash.” Suffering from viral meningitis and relying on a walker has never stopped Hittner from lighting up stages. With his energetic stage presence\, hilarious jokes and stories\, Hittner is a force to be reckoned with onstage. His charisma\, charm and likability allow him to connect with all types of audiences and leave them wanting more. In 2023\, he won Maine’s “Wicked Funny Laugh Off” competition\, and he was named Motif Magazine’s favorite live performer.
