SUMMARY:EXHIBIT: Tiffany’s Gardens In Glass —Cahoon Museum of Art
DESCRIPTION:Tiffany’s Gardens in Glass\nExhibit\, Wednesday\, March 18 through June 7\, 2026 \n\n\nCahoon Museum of Art \nMuseum Hours\, Wednesday through Sunday\, 10:00am to 4:00pm \n\n\n\n\n\nCahoon Museum of American Art presents Tiffany’s Gardens in Glass\, an exhibition that “illuminates the path from inspiration to expression” that led from Tiffany Studios’ nature study photography to the nature-inspired windows\, lampshades and other glassware that made the studio famous. According to curatorial materials\, Louis C. Tiffany “staffed his studios with designers\, artists\, and artisans who shared his passion for the rich colors and sinuous forms found in nature.” This gave the studio the ability to “translate natural forms faithfully into glass: velvety or paper-thin petals\, waxy or veined leaves\, dappled sunlight or shadow\, and much more.” This exhibition was put together by The Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass\, in Queens\, New York.

SUMMARY:History on Tap: Dolphin Communication - Past\, Present\, and Future
DESCRIPTION:“Dolphins have long captured the human imagination as highly intelligent animals capable of complex communication. But what does science actually tell us about how dolphins communicate? \nJoin Dr. Laela Sayigh – Senior Research Specialist\, Biology\, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution – as she explores the evolution of our understanding of dolphin communication\, from early assumptions to today’s cutting-edge research. Drawing on her work at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution\, she will highlight the structure and function of dolphins’ distinctive “signature whistles\,” as well as other lesser-understood vocalizations. \nThis talk will also dive into the innovative tools scientists use to study dolphins\, including acoustic tags\, playback experiments\, and sound monitoring systems that may help prevent mass stranding events. Looking ahead\, Dr. Sayigh will discuss how emerging technologies—like artificial intelligence—are shaping the future of marine mammal research. \nPart of our History on Tap series—join us for an evening of local history\, conversation\, and craft brews. \nAdmission: $10 per person / $5 for members \nMust be 21+ to sample beer; IDs will be checked at the door. \nEnjoy craft beer from our sponsor\, Cape Cod Beer\, along with cheese\, crackers\, water\, and non-alcoholic beer options. \nWe highly recommend reserving your tickets on our website in advance. Popular events often sell out quickly\, and we cannot always accommodate walk-ins. Don’t miss out—plan and secure your spot! “

SUMMARY:Outside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ Artists on the Cape
DESCRIPTION:Outside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod.\nEXHIBIT: May 23 to June 21\, 2026\nOPENING RECEPTION: May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nOutside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod. Artists such as Joerg Dressler\, Beth Faherty\, Fran O’Neill\, and Paul Rizzo\, among many other skilled creatives\, will showcase their work at Cotuit Center for the Arts from May 23 to June 21\, 2026\, with an opening reception on May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nThe Outside Straight Lines biennial exhibit arose out of concern that much of LGBTQ+ art across the Cape has been unintentionally segregated to Provincetown\, often forcing those showing their work outside of this Queer Mecca into self-censorship throughout other venues of the Cape. In a time of book banning of LGBTQ+ literature\, erasures of crosswalks\, and blatant attacks on trans rights\, this showcase has acted as an affirmation of collective LGBTQ+ expression. With support from the Mid-Cape Cultural Council\, GSAs across Cape high schools have been invited to view this powerful exhibit. \nAccording to curator David Cravenho\, “I am impressed by our LGBTQ+ Community for its strength and resilience. Growing up queer as a child and navigating life through the lens of a straight world is quite the feat.” This exhibit not only hosts 13 Queer artists in a single space but also celebrates the vast diversity of our Queer Cape Cod community–from the expressionist figure to the realistic Cape Cod landscape. Cravenho believes strongly in art’s ability to armor oneself: “Becoming an adult as an artist and putting on your survival mechanism to express your power through your work is a gift from beyond ourselves.” \nJoin artists for an opening reception on May 30\, 2026 from 3-5pm\, or drop by Cotuit Center for the Arts between May 23 and June 21\, 2026 during visiting times to view this powerful visual collection of LGBTQ+ voices. \nMark Adams \nJoerg Dressler \nBeth Faherty \nKenneth Hawkey \nMegan Hinton \nPete Hocking \nMarc Kundmann \nFran O’Neill \nPaul Rizzo \nChristopher Sousa \nAlan Trugman \nForrest Williams \nLaurence Young \nSponsored by the Mass Cultural Council and the Mid-Cape Cultural Council

SUMMARY:Glass Beads Flameworking Workshop | Flameworks | Hyannis
DESCRIPTION:Step into the mesmerizing world of molten glass in this hands-on flameworking workshop! \nStudents will be introduced to the fundamentals of working with soft glass—learning how it softens\, flows\, and transforms in the flame.
