DESCRIPTION:Outside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod.\nEXHIBIT: May 23 to June 21\, 2026\nOPENING RECEPTION: May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nOutside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod. Artists such as Joerg Dressler\, Beth Faherty\, Fran O’Neill\, and Paul Rizzo\, among many other skilled creatives\, will showcase their work at Cotuit Center for the Arts from May 23 to June 21\, 2026\, with an opening reception on May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nThe Outside Straight Lines biennial exhibit arose out of concern that much of LGBTQ+ art across the Cape has been unintentionally segregated to Provincetown\, often forcing those showing their work outside of this Queer Mecca into self-censorship throughout other venues of the Cape. In a time of book banning of LGBTQ+ literature\, erasures of crosswalks\, and blatant attacks on trans rights\, this showcase has acted as an affirmation of collective LGBTQ+ expression. With support from the Mid-Cape Cultural Council\, GSAs across Cape high schools have been invited to view this powerful exhibit. \nAccording to curator David Cravenho\, “I am impressed by our LGBTQ+ Community for its strength and resilience. Growing up queer as a child and navigating life through the lens of a straight world is quite the feat.” This exhibit not only hosts 13 Queer artists in a single space but also celebrates the vast diversity of our Queer Cape Cod community–from the expressionist figure to the realistic Cape Cod landscape. DESCRIPTION:The Center for the Spiritual Journey invites the community to a guided walk at the Chatham Labyrinth in celebration of the Summer Solstice on Sunday\, June 21st at 4:00 pm. The labyrinth is a meditative walk on an ancient circular design.  We will walk to the lovely sound of the harp\, played by Thom Dutton.\nIt is the first day of summer\, the longest and brightest day of the year! Along with cultures from all over the Northern Hemisphere\, we will gather to celebrate the life-giving gift of the high sun’s warmth and healing energy. \nAll are welcome. This is a free offering (but donations are always welcome). \nThe Chatham Labyrinth is located in Chase Park. Take Cross St. (off of Main St.). Bear left at Shattuck Place and follow to the parking lot in front of the windmill. The labyrinth is on the other side of the windmill and the walkway is handicap accessible. DESCRIPTION:Explore the art of transfer decoration in this creative porcelain workshop. \nGuests will work on a porcelain surface\, selecting from a variety of transfer designs to build their own unique composition. \nYou’ll experiment with placement and layering as you arrange the imagery to create a personalized piece. \nOnce your design is complete\, the piece will be kiln-fired to permanently fuse the transfers to the porcelain surface\, resulting in a finished piece that is both decorative and functional. \nNo prior experience is needed—just come ready to experiment and design. \nPlease note that pieces must be picked up approximately two weeks after the classto allow time for kiln firing. \nThis is the class registration fee which includes the instruction and transfer supplies. \nCeramic pieces will be purchased separately during class and may range from $20-$50 each.

DESCRIPTION:Outside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod.\nEXHIBIT: May 23 to June 21\, 2026\nOPENING RECEPTION: May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nOutside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod. Artists such as Joerg Dressler\, Beth Faherty\, Fran O’Neill\, and Paul Rizzo\, among many other skilled creatives\, will showcase their work at Cotuit Center for the Arts from May 23 to June 21\, 2026\, with an opening reception on May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nThe Outside Straight Lines biennial exhibit arose out of concern that much of LGBTQ+ art across the Cape has been unintentionally segregated to Provincetown\, often forcing those showing their work outside of this Queer Mecca into self-censorship throughout other venues of the Cape. In a time of book banning of LGBTQ+ literature\, erasures of crosswalks\, and blatant attacks on trans rights\, this showcase has acted as an affirmation of collective LGBTQ+ expression. With support from the Mid-Cape Cultural Council\, GSAs across Cape high schools have been invited to view this powerful exhibit. \nAccording to curator David Cravenho\, “I am impressed by our LGBTQ+ Community for its strength and resilience. Growing up queer as a child and navigating life through the lens of a straight world is quite the feat.” This exhibit not only hosts 13 Queer artists in a single space but also celebrates the vast diversity of our Queer Cape Cod community–from the expressionist figure to the realistic Cape Cod landscape. DESCRIPTION:Outside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod.\nEXHIBIT: May 23 to June 21\, 2026\nOPENING RECEPTION: May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nOutside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod. Artists such as Joerg Dressler\, Beth Faherty\, Fran O’Neill\, and Paul Rizzo\, among many other skilled creatives\, will showcase their work at Cotuit Center for the Arts from May 23 to June 21\, 2026\, with an opening reception on May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nThe Outside Straight Lines biennial exhibit arose out of concern that much of LGBTQ+ art across the Cape has been unintentionally segregated to Provincetown\, often forcing those showing their work outside of this Queer Mecca into self-censorship throughout other venues of the Cape. In a time of book banning of LGBTQ+ literature\, erasures of crosswalks\, and blatant attacks on trans rights\, this showcase has acted as an affirmation of collective LGBTQ+ expression. With support from the Mid-Cape Cultural Council\, GSAs across Cape high schools have been invited to view this powerful exhibit. \nAccording to curator David Cravenho\, “I am impressed by our LGBTQ+ Community for its strength and resilience. Growing up queer as a child and navigating life through the lens of a straight world is quite the feat.” This exhibit not only hosts 13 Queer artists in a single space but also celebrates the vast diversity of our Queer Cape Cod community–from the expressionist figure to the realistic Cape Cod landscape. The program begins in the Elm parking lot\, where Auto Collections Manager Jon Elmendorf will share information about featured vehicles from Heritage’s collection\, highlighting different cars each month. Get a look under the hoods and have the rare opportunity to watch and listen as the featured cars are started up and taken on demonstration drives (weather permitting). Then go behind the scenes into Heritage’s auto storage area and maintenance garage with Jon as he shares more insider insights. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with fellow enthusiasts\, ask questions\, and hear directly from members of Heritage’s Auto Committee about what it takes to maintain this extraordinary collection ─ all in an engaging\, relaxed setting. If you’d like\, arrive early to explore the Automobile Gallery exhibition From Carriage to Classic: How Automobiles Transformed America. Those who are not members of Heritage can take advantage of a discounted rate by combining this program with admission to all of Heritage for a savings of $8 for adults and $5 for youth! Featured Vehicles: This month’s program highlights the 1916 Simplex Crane Model 5 Touring and the 1912 Packard 1-48 Victoria\, two very expensive cars from the early days of motoring. These vehicles represent the height of luxury. The Simplex Crane was the first car acquired for the Heritage collection by museum founder Josiah K. Lilly III in 1964 and the Packard will attend both the Packard Club 59th National Meet in Warwick\, RI and the Misselwood Concours d’Elegance in Beverly\, MA in July.
