DESCRIPTION:Outside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod.\nEXHIBIT: May 23 to June 21\, 2026\nOPENING RECEPTION: May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nOutside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod. Artists such as Joerg Dressler\, Beth Faherty\, Fran O’Neill\, and Paul Rizzo\, among many other skilled creatives\, will showcase their work at Cotuit Center for the Arts from May 23 to June 21\, 2026\, with an opening reception on May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nThe Outside Straight Lines biennial exhibit arose out of concern that much of LGBTQ+ art across the Cape has been unintentionally segregated to Provincetown\, often forcing those showing their work outside of this Queer Mecca into self-censorship throughout other venues of the Cape. In a time of book banning of LGBTQ+ literature\, erasures of crosswalks\, and blatant attacks on trans rights\, this showcase has acted as an affirmation of collective LGBTQ+ expression. With support from the Mid-Cape Cultural Council\, GSAs across Cape high schools have been invited to view this powerful exhibit. \nAccording to curator David Cravenho\, “I am impressed by our LGBTQ+ Community for its strength and resilience. Growing up queer as a child and navigating life through the lens of a straight world is quite the feat.” This exhibit not only hosts 13 Queer artists in a single space but also celebrates the vast diversity of our Queer Cape Cod community–from the expressionist figure to the realistic Cape Cod landscape. Terry’s son Richard Hanchett will join Curran in this talk. When the boat sinks 12 miles out in the Gulf of America\, three friends must survive 28 hours in open water\, facing eight-foot waves\, jellyfish stings\, hypothermia\, and circling sharks. DESCRIPTION:Outside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod.\nEXHIBIT: May 23 to June 21\, 2026\nOPENING RECEPTION: May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nOutside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod. Artists such as Joerg Dressler\, Beth Faherty\, Fran O’Neill\, and Paul Rizzo\, among many other skilled creatives\, will showcase their work at Cotuit Center for the Arts from May 23 to June 21\, 2026\, with an opening reception on May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nThe Outside Straight Lines biennial exhibit arose out of concern that much of LGBTQ+ art across the Cape has been unintentionally segregated to Provincetown\, often forcing those showing their work outside of this Queer Mecca into self-censorship throughout other venues of the Cape. In a time of book banning of LGBTQ+ literature\, erasures of crosswalks\, and blatant attacks on trans rights\, this showcase has acted as an affirmation of collective LGBTQ+ expression. With support from the Mid-Cape Cultural Council\, GSAs across Cape high schools have been invited to view this powerful exhibit. \nAccording to curator David Cravenho\, “I am impressed by our LGBTQ+ Community for its strength and resilience. Growing up queer as a child and navigating life through the lens of a straight world is quite the feat.” This exhibit not only hosts 13 Queer artists in a single space but also celebrates the vast diversity of our Queer Cape Cod community–from the expressionist figure to the realistic Cape Cod landscape. DESCRIPTION:A blend of timeless and contemporary R&B songs along with original compositions! The Kingfish band was formed many years ago by local songwriter and musician\, Steve Morgan. Originally an award-winning blues band\, the group was forced to make major changes following the passing of lead vocalist\, Bryant Edwards in 2019\, and then Steve in 2022. The Kingfish added Hope Finch on lead vocals\, and Alex ‘BZ’ MacLellen on guitar. The remaining members\, Ed Wannamaker on drums\, Peter Mann on keyboard and Roe Osborn on bass are from the original band\, with all members sharing in vocal duties. DESCRIPTION:Outside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod.\nEXHIBIT: May 23 to June 21\, 2026\nOPENING RECEPTION: May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nOutside Straight Lines II: A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Artists is a community art exhibit held at Cotuit Center for the Arts during Pride month aimed toward giving voice to LGBTQ+ arts across Cape Cod. Artists such as Joerg Dressler\, Beth Faherty\, Fran O’Neill\, and Paul Rizzo\, among many other skilled creatives\, will showcase their work at Cotuit Center for the Arts from May 23 to June 21\, 2026\, with an opening reception on May 30\, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. \nThe Outside Straight Lines biennial exhibit arose out of concern that much of LGBTQ+ art across the Cape has been unintentionally segregated to Provincetown\, often forcing those showing their work outside of this Queer Mecca into self-censorship throughout other venues of the Cape. In a time of book banning of LGBTQ+ literature\, erasures of crosswalks\, and blatant attacks on trans rights\, this showcase has acted as an affirmation of collective LGBTQ+ expression. With support from the Mid-Cape Cultural Council\, GSAs across Cape high schools have been invited to view this powerful exhibit. \nAccording to curator David Cravenho\, “I am impressed by our LGBTQ+ Community for its strength and resilience. Growing up queer as a child and navigating life through the lens of a straight world is quite the feat.” This exhibit not only hosts 13 Queer artists in a single space but also celebrates the vast diversity of our Queer Cape Cod community–from the expressionist figure to the realistic Cape Cod landscape. Guided step by step\, you’ll create your own unique glass beads using a metal mandrel while discovering essential techniques like pulling delicate stringers\, adding colorful dots\, and experimenting with surface textures. \nThis class is all about exploration and creativity\, watching solid glass come alive as it melts\, twists\, and takes shape right before your eyes. Whether you’re drawn to bold patterns or subtle designs\, you’ll have the freedom to play\, experiment\, and develop your own style. Along the way\, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the material and the magic behind the process. \nNo prior experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to have fun! \nSAFETY AND WHAT TO EXPECT: \nThis class will be held at our Hyannis HyArts Campus Flamework Studio | Corner of South & Pearl Streets | Hyannis \nWorking with molten glass is exciting\, but it does require a few important safety precautions.\nFor your protection\, all participants must wear 100% cotton or linen clothing (synthetic fabrics are not allowed)\, along with closed-toe shoes. If you have long hair\, please be sure to tie it back securely before class. \nPlease note that all glass pieces created during the workshop must cool slowly in a kiln overnight to ensure durability and prevent cracking.
