DESCRIPTION:The Cello Unfolded: From Romantic Passion to Dreamlike Soundscapes. Classical and Contemporary Cello. \nTaiwanese cellist Chih-Yi (Joy) Chu is an artist whose work bridges classical tradition and contemporary innovation. Currently pursuing a Graduate Diploma at the New England Conservatory\, she holds a Master of Music degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and a Bachelor of Science degree from National Taiwan University. \nAn accomplished orchestral and chamber musician\, she has performed as principal cellist of the National Taiwan University Symphony Orchestra and the Prague Summer Nights Festival Orchestra\, collaborating with members of the Czech Philharmonic and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Her experience also includes performances with the National Orchestral Institute Philharmonic under Marin Alsop\, the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra\, and the Taipei Philharmonic Youth Orchestra\, as well as appearances with the New World Symphony and other regional ensembles in the Boston area.

DESCRIPTION:Open Mic in the Art Barn\n\n\nFriday\, March 27\, 2026     6:00pm – 9:00pm\n\n\n\n\n\nFREE ENTRY\nJoin us for Open Mic Night on Friday\, March 27th\, 2026 in the Art Barn for music\, creativity\, and community! \nThe evening will follow a classic open mic format with time set aside for different age groups:\n6:00–7:00 PM: Kids & Teens\n7:00 PM: Short break\n7:30–9:00 PM: Adults \nYoung performers can sign up on the dry-erase board in the waiting room in the Schoolhouse. Kids and teens should come prepared with a song that’s at least 2½ minutes long. Bands are welcome and may perform up to three songs. \nIf time allows at the end of the night\, we’ll open things up for a casual open jam\, giving musicians a chance to play together and close out the evening on a high note. \nWhether you’re performing or cheering from the crowd\, come be part of a supportive\, creative night at the Art Barn!
