SUMMARY:From Gavel to Gravel: One judge’s Journey From Presiding Over Courtrooms to an Archaeology site!
DESCRIPTION:From Gavel to Gravel\nRetired Judge Gary Nickerson shares the fascinating story of his journey from the courtroom to the excavation field in this engaging presentation. \nAfter years on the bench\, Judge Nickerson traded legal briefs for archaeological digs\, becoming a member of an archaeology team in Chatham assisting with an archaeological dig at what is believed to be the original Nickerson homestead in Chatham. \nThrough stories\, discoveries\, and personal reflections\, he explores how a lifelong curiosity about history led him to uncover pieces of the past buried beneath Cape Cod’s landscape. “From Gavel to Gravel” offers a unique look at reinvention\, local history\, and the unexpected paths retirement can open. \nThis program will take place on Saturday July 25th at 1pm. \nFor more information or to register for this program\, please contact Amy Wolfe at awolfe@clamsnet.org or by calling the OVL directly at (508)428-5757
