Cotuit Center for the Arts presents a delightful evening of theater on the Outdoor Stage, featuring Karen McPherson, Glenn Starner-Tate, Linda Monchik and Ruthe Lew in two comedic one-act plays: Lemonade by James Prideaux and A Little Something For the Ducks by Jean Lenox Toddie.

A Little Something for the Ducks by Jean Lenox Toddie

At a pond nearby a retirement home, a woman sees a man throwing bread to eager ducks. She repeatedly reminds him that the nearby sign says “Do Not Feed the Ducks”—which he ignores, as he has been feeding them for 6 or 7 years. The play explores the loneliness which older age sometimes brings, and the redeeming value of friendship.

Featuring Karen McPherson and Glenn Starner-Tate
Directed by Anna Marie Johansen
Music by Glenn Starner-Tate

Lemonade by James Prideaux

Lemonade features “a pair of Peoria matrons who seek respite from the doldrums of middle age by selling spiked lemonade to highway travelers.” The two trade drinks and the fantasies they have concocted to brighten their dull lives—but not all is as it seems.

Featuring Linda Monchik and Ruthe Lew
Directed by Carol McManus
Music by Ruthe Lew

Both plays produced by Karen McPherson.
