Violinists Yevgenia & Sander Strenger will return to the South Harwich Meetinghouse on Sunday, November 27 at 3 pm for a special “Double Concerto” program, with Dan Berlinghoff at the piano. The “Masterpieces at the Meetinghouse” concert will feature Bach’s Concerto in D minor for Two Violins and Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for Violin & Viola— both works the soloists have recently performed in Connecticut with orchestra— here accompanied by piano. In addition to the Classics, the three members of The Music Project will play Romantic chamber music selections from Max Bruch’s Eight Pieces, op. 83.

About The Music Project

Formed in 1975 to explore the repertory for winds, strings and piano, Music Project concerts were held at the Ukrainian Institute, Marymount Manhattan Theater, Christ & St. Stephen’s Church, Merkin Hall, Society for Ethical Culture and Carnegie Recital Hall. Concerts at Town Hall in 1978 earned critical praise for the ensemble as “the chamber music ideal” (New York) and the “bright, fresh alternative to the established Chamber Music Society at Lincoln Center” (The New Yorker). The ensemble performed for more than two decades in Manhattan and on tour, including appearances at the Caramoor Festival, Crystal Palace, Frick Collection, and broadcasts over WNYC, WQXR, WNCN, and WFUV. The 100th subscription concert was held in 1994. Since the series finale in 1998, Project members periodically join forces to play for their own enjoyment and ours.
