Presented by the Garden Club of Hyannis!
From Thursday, November 18, through Saturday, November 20th, from 9am to 5pm, the Cultural Center will become a magical and majestic showcase for the holiday season, thanks to the talents of the Garden Club of Hyannis.
Each area will be profusely decorated with opulent fresh floral arrangements and captivating tablescapes, wreaths, swags, container plants, artwork, furnishings, and accents. Meanwhile, the exterior facade and entryways will be dressed with lush greens, berries, ribbons, baubles and bangles.
And the 2021 Magnificent Boutique will offer over 2000 artistically designed, handcrafted holiday items for sale. Perfect treasures to dress up your home for the holidays or to give as gifts for family, friends, and teachers!
This event involves so much effort that the Garden Club hosts it only every three years. Because of COVID-19, the hiatus grew to four years, but the extra time meant extra effort on an event that is sure to impress.
The 2021 Showcase theme, “Four Hundred Years of Holidays on Cape Cod,” was intended to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims landing, but COVID landed with an enormous thud, forcing the postponement of the event.
Visitors will be able to “tour the Cape” by traveling from space to space, immersing themselves along the way in various iconic Cape places and pastimes:
Sandwich—Glass and Light
Hyannisport—Children’s Christmas in Camelot
Yarmouthport—Victorian Wedding at a Sea Captain’s Home
Harwichport—Thompson’s Clam Bar
Bass River—Holiday Reception
Sconset—Christmas Past and Present
Nantucket—Harvest at Christmas
And where better to create gorgeous and historic displays than in the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, housed in the Bass River Savings Bank building, itself a historic landmark nestled in a beautiful historic district. From floor to ceiling, wall to wall, inside out, the Center will be a beautiful example of historic holiday splendor.
Tickets are $20 in advance at the Center’s website or from any Garden Club member, or $25 at the door. Proceeds help fund the Garden Club of Hyannis’s many civic, charitable projects, including scholarships, and the Cultural Center of Cape Cod.
The Garden Club of Hyannis, founded in 1930, is a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., and the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts. Throughout its history, the club has been involved in civic projects intended to stimulate knowledge and appreciation of horticulture and the art of flower arranging and to support conservation and environmental concerns.
