This class meets online on Zoom on Tuesdays at 10am beginning July 7. Your class confirmation email will contain the Zoom class link.
Does your pre-teen love to draw but could benefit from formal instruction? This class for ages 11-13 uses a fun and informative approach to teach students the basics of drawing like basic perspective, portrait drawing, and shading to make objects appear three dimensional. Students will learn about the different materials they are using, techniques for each one, and how to choose the best material for any given subject. The class will include both instruction and some independent work time. Students will need to provide their own materials, and quiet work space free from distractions.
Drawing pencils HB, 2B, 4B, 6B
Compressed charcoal (look for thin sticks)
White charcoal chalk
Extra fine point black sharpie
9×12 Drawing pad of good quality paper. Look for paper suitable for charcoal/pastel or vellum(not smooth) surface.
9×12 pad newsprint or other inexpensive paper.
ONLINE WITH ZOOM
You will need to be sure the Zoom app is installed on your device. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing a secure link to join the class.
You will be able to login 15 minutes before the class start time. We recommend logging in before the class starts to make sure you are settled in and ready to go when the class is set to begin.
If you are new to Zoom, please note that we will not be able to help with the app. It is strongly recommended that you navigate Zoom on your own before the class starts to get to know the mute and video settings. Try it out by talking with a friend or family member who has the Zoom app. The Cultural Center uses Zoom to conduct online classes, and I understand that the Zoom meeting will be recorded. By participating in the class, I consent to be recorded and place no restrictions on distribution of the recording
