One of New England’s most beloved singer-songwriters, Les Sampou returns to the Cultural Center for an evening of popular music with her trio “The Dirty Martinis.” A chameleon-like songwriter and vocalist of many styles, her original songs from her seven albums (Rounder Records) range from Blues to Rock to Folk, many of which have been featured in soundtracks for film and TV. Sampou’s latest project showcases her three and a half octave range and fun, engaging stage presence on compositions from the American Songbook by such composers as Gershwin, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington whose songs were made famous by such greats as Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday, and Diana Krall. The Dirty Martini Trio features Les on vocals and percussion, Ed Grenga on vocals and keys, and Justin Meyer on stand-up bass This all-star ensemble is not to miss. You’re in store for a truly inspiring night of music.
Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, the Cultural Center will take additional precautions to keep everyone on our campus safe. The improvements we made to our ventilation system and other aspects of our facility during the pandemic continue to contribute to the safety of our constituents, but we also expect all people who have not been fully vaccinated to wear masks at all times while in our buildings.
