Latin Dance Party!

Two chances to experience the high-energy Afro-Caribbean sounds of the award-winning Alex Torres & His Latin Orchestra, June 9 & 10!
On Friday, June 9, the group will be presenting a FREE community concert at the Mashpee Commons Band Shell (Mashpee Public Library side of the Commons) at 6 p.m. – bring your lawn chairs, blankets and dancing shoes! Rain venue is Mashpee Middle High School.
On Saturday June 10, come to Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis, where Alex and the group will be featured at an outdoor Salsa Dance Party in the brewery’s Beer Garden. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Last year’s event was a sold-out hit!
This multi-award-winning 12-piece ensemble has been entertaining audiences worldwide for more than three decades with their original blend of Latin musical styles. They are also accomplished arts educators, having presented assemblies at hundreds of schools, from the elementary to university levels, teaching about the roots and rhythms of Latin music.
The Mashpee Commons show is part of a two-day arts-in-education residency by the band at Mashpee Middle-High School, where the band members will be conducting workshops with students and presenting whole-school assembly/concerts. The residency is generously sponsored by the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, the Cape Cod Melody Tent/South Shore Music Circus, Cape Cod Foundation/Lou Colombo Music Fund, Mashpee Commons and the Mashpee Local Cultural Council.
