The Cape Cod Museum of Art presents:
From Here to There: How is Movement Created in Art? with Laura Shabott
Friday, June 28, 10:30 – 12:30 pm.
Member $12 / Non-Member $20, includes Museum admission

Spanning over one hundred years of artmaking by Cape-affiliated artists, this dynamic and multi-media exhibition is a wonderful prompt for how movement is created in two-dimensional visual art. Artist/Educator Laura Shabott will explore the elements and principles in play with the 30+ works on view from the collection. After the hour PowerPoint presentation, Shabott will engage with attendees in the exhibit itself.
CCMoA docents elevate both the show itself and the presentation by artist Laura Shabott through their insights and careful research. Everyone is welcome.

Lecturer: Provincetown-based Laura Shabott makes paintings, drawings and collage that respond to nature with boldness, strength, and originality. She is a graduate of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston at TUFTS, a Returning Resident at the Fine Arts Work Center and a recipient of the Building Capacity Grant from the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. In addition to her studio practice, Shabott is passionate about teaching at CCMoA and sharing Cape Cod’s artistic legacy through lectures. She is represented by Berta Walker Gallery, Provincetown. www.laurashabott.com www.bertawalkergallery.com
