The Cape Cod Writers Center is pleased to announce that
registration has begun for the 61 st literary conference from August 1-4 at the Emerald Resort/Irish Village in
Hyannis. The conference is open to writers of all ages, genders, cultures, and experience from beginners to
published authors.
“We’re excited about the conference this year because there seems to be increased interest in writing books, despite
the challenge of social media and the threat of AI,” said Nancy Rubin Stuart, executive director of the Cape Cod
Writers Center.
This year’s conference features twenty-seven courses, faculty mentoring sessions, a keynote luncheon, and student
readings. The courses include writing socially conscious fiction, magic marketing, audio books, humor writing,
poetry, mystery writing, writing for young adults, memoir, the art of dialogue, screenwriting, revision character
backstory, personal essays, first sentences and more.
Conference faculty include award-winning novelist Nancy Agabian; best-selling mystery writer Susan Breen; humor
columnist Jerry Zezima; acclaimed screenwriter Kuros Charney; Massachusetts Cultural Council awardee poet Ben
Berman; audio book specialist Nancy Bober; popular novelist Nicole Blades; freelance editor Dorian Fox;
nonfiction author Sara Rauch; young adult writer David Yoo; editor Diane O’Connell best-selling book developer
Jennifer. S. Wilkov and noted novelist and teacher for the Young Writers program Marcella Pixley. Agents in
attendance are Valerie Borchardt of Georges Borchardt, Inc., Tom Miller of the Liza Dawson Associates and Gina
Panettieri of Talcott Notch Literary Services.
Conference registrants are invited to hear New York Times best-selling novelist William Martin speak on “Where
Do You Get Your Ideas?” on Saturday, August 3 at 12:30 PM.
Registration for members is free, $80 for nonmembers. Three-session courses cost $180; two-session courses are
$140, and a one-time course is $80. Manuscript mentoring sessions are available with faculty members at $180 for
