Call For Entries! Sketchy: Revealing The Process
- This event has passed.
The Cape Cod Museum of Art is now accepting Entries for it’s Annual Members’ Juried Exhibition.
This year, the Cape Cod Museum of Art is calling for submissions that reveal some aspect of the artist’s process of creation in the finished product. See submission guidelines and enter at www.CCMoA.org/submit
There are many ways to respond to this call. Here are 3 examples:
•EXAMPLE #1 – Submit a sketch, a composite of several sketches, or a painted study along with the completed work of art.
•EXAMPLE #2 – Submit an artwork that shows a visible trace of an earlier painting, an underpainting or sketch beneath a layer or layers of paint/ink/etc. (also called “Pentimento”).
Submit a sculpture or painting that appears to be unfinished – the figure is coming out of the block of material – or emerging from the paper or canvas. This is a process called “Non finito” that was used by Michelangelo among other artists.
Please contact the venue directly with any questions.
