This three-day workshop will teach clay artists of any experience level a methodical process for creating a realistic face jug. Going beyond the traditional folk-art approach, techniques will be taught for reshaping the pot into an accurate, detailed head without introducing excessive weight. Instructor Paul Haigh will provide demonstration and one-on-one instruction at each step of the process. A variety of options in styling, motif, and finish will help create a personality for each work of art. Participants may throw their own jug on the potterβs wheel, or use one provided.
Clay and tools will be provided, but students are welcome to bring any favorite tools.
