Climate Change, A Work For Two Cellos will present an original commissioned piece for cello duo by composer Kirsten Volness, which will be performed by Megan Koch and the artistic director of Beyond The Bounds, Naomi Steckman. The event will also include a presentation of evocative photographs that reflect the issue of climate change, by photographer Julia Cumes, as well as works from Shostakovich, Klengel, and Bach. This concert will be held in the boathouse on the campus of Camp Lyndon in Sandwich MA, 117 Stowe Rd, Sandwich, MA 02563. The pre-concert talk will be from 3:00 PM – 3:45 PM with our expert researcher Mark Nelson who will present on climate change specifically to Cape Cod, as well as what actions we can take as individuals and community members. This will be followed by a Q&A with the artists. The concert will begin at 4:00 PM. Drinks, snacks, and merchandise will be available for purchase on-site. Bring your own chairs, and picnics for an evening of music, art, and dance on the water. The concert is free to the public but the pre-concert talk and Q&A with the artists can be available for purchase for $10.
