Jazz comes to the South Harwich Meetinghouse! Join us for our first concert of the Autumn Season. Friends of the South Harwich Meetinghouse & Friends of the Harwich Council on Aging are thrilled to present The Art Ensemble of Cape Cod ~ a jazz trio performing “Fall Together” a program of American Improvisational Music (AIM) featuring highly acclaimed jazz musicians Wayne Naus, Director & Composer on piano, Rick Cain on bass & John DiSanto on drums. Join us for a reception following the concert.
The Art Ensemble of Cape Cod is a Jazz trio (piano, bass & drums) performing Jazz standards and original music. The group has been together since 2012 and has performed numerous concerts at venues on the Cape including the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. The group recently completed their first album entitled Once Upon a Time On Cape Cod available on most streaming platforms. Their original music was inspired by life on Cape Cod with original tune titles such as “Moon Over Monomoy”, “Message from Marconi”, “Blues in the Sound”, “Red Right Return”, and “Sagamore Bridge Blues.”

About the Musicians…
Wayne Naus
Pianist, director and composer for the Art Ensemble of Cape Cod, Wayne Naus began his professional music career as a Navy musician, playing trumpet. He has toured and recorded worldwide with the Buddy Rich, Lionel Hampton, Maynard Ferguson and Arturo Sandoval big bands. Performances include Carnegie Hall and the Newport, Boston and Saratoga Jazz Festivals. While touring, he had the opportunity to perform with numerous musical celebrities including Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra. He was a faculty member at Berklee College of Music for 35 years retiring in 2010. He volunteers at the Monomoy High School as the founder and director of the Monomoy High School Jazz band
Bassist, Rick Cain enjoyed 34 fruitful years as a Band Director on both the high school and college level in central Massachusetts, retiring from Clark University in 2015. During his time as a music educator, Rick performed with numerous orchestras, big bands and jazz ensembles throughout the commonwealth and beyond. He is a lifetime member of the International Society of Bassists and an active member of the Cape Cod Salties.
John DiSanto is a performance drummer with over 40 years’ experience in the greater New England area. After graduating Berklee College of Music in 1982, John went on to own a thriving music school and instrument center in Easton for the next 24 years. John’s extensive and diverse experience includes performances with Dick Johnson, Mokoto Ozone, Moksha and the Drifters, and he currently is the drummer for “The Rat Pack is Back”, a Las Vegas national touring group He owns and operates an antique and piano center in Easton, MA and still provides private instruction to advanced drummers in the greater Boston area.
