The Town of Barnstable is alive with the sound of music this summer. Cape Cod Chorale

Cape Cod Chorale

The Cape Cod Chorale is a community chorus comprised of about 50 voices, with membership drawn from middle and upper Cape Cod communities, from Chatham to Falmouth, truly representing the Cape Cod Community. Membership is open to all without an audition. classical and contemporary choral works. Each year the Chorale presents several concert series of two performances each in varying Cape venues.

Cape Cod Melody Tent

With the Cape's rich history in summer musical theater and Broadway connections dating from the early 1930s, the Cape Cod Melody Tent, once called the Hyannis Music Circus, is now the seasonal stage to major national stars of music and comedy, as well as musical and theatrical special events.

Cape Community Orchestra

Th Cape Community Orchestra, formerly known as the First Congregational Church of Harwich Orchestra, was formed in 1990 to maintain and orchestra on Cape Cod for musicians of all ages who have the ability to read and perform music on the instrument of their choice.  The group performs orchestral programs consisting of classical, popular, show, operatic, march and ballet music. Our members come from the entire Cape Cod area and include public school musicians as well as professional musicians.  We are always looking for new members, especially strings.

 

Cape Symphony Orchestra

Cape Cod’s very own orchestra, Cape Symphony, performs at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center in Hyannis.
From popular hits to magnificent classics, highlighting hidden gems and putting a new twist on standards, the emphasis is always on fun, surprises, and beautiful music.
The Cape Symphony provides an experience like no other. Once you’ve been, you’ll want to go again!

St Mary’s Episcopal Church Barnstable Village

Several choirs sing during special services and concerts throughout the year and the church hosts Cape Cod Early Music Festival.  The festival held annually for two weeks in July, features professional performances from the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods in an intimate setting. 

 

The Federated Church of Hyannis

The Federated Church of Hyannis is host to summer concerts featuring Hyannis Sound, an all-male professional acappella group, Friday evenings at 8PM

Issa Coulibaly began studying the djembe and dun dun when he was 11 in his home city of Bamako, Mali. As his skill and reputation as a multi-instrumental player, vocalist and arranger grew, Issa toured Africa and Europe extensively before emigrating to America. He continues to travel widely to facilitate retreats and perform as the lead drummer and Musical Director for a variety of African Dance and Drum troupes.
